I created a series for my 7th,8th, and one freshmen small group called "God is my..."
This week the phrase is "God is my shepherd"
so I studied sheep, they were one of the first animals domesticated from Europe to create fleece. So they were raised for a purpose. We said God is our shepherd and we are sheep.
Sheep don't know what to do with themselves, they are such a stupid animal, and fall over and can't get back up. They need a shepherd to herd them, provide, and lift them up.
The underlying theme was provision and reliance on God.
So God is my shepherd, and I am a sheep.
Psalm 23.
