"
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayers for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as log as I have breath! Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me.
I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord; "Please, Lord, save me!" How kind the Lord is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours! The Lord protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death and he saved me.
Let my soul be at rest again, for the Lord has been good to me. He has saved me from death,
my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. And so I walk in the Lord's presence as I live here on earth!
I trusted in the Lord when I said, “I am greatly afflicted”; in my alarm I said, “Everyone is a liar.” What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me, I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people" Psalm 116:1-14
We go through seasons of faith.
I was driving home the other night and it was raining so hard. I was coming home from Rachel's and I live in Scotts Valley, so it wasn't a very long ride, but it felt like it took forever. Along the drive I noticed the rain, in some areas it was lighter, and in some areas it was pouring. But in every part of the storm, I kept driving. I wasn't going to pull on the side of the road and wait for the rain to stop. No, I continued to drive, even when I could barely see.
That is how my walk with Christ this year has been. I've had days of heavy rain, and days of light rain. Sometimes I could not even see, but I am not going to give up on my walk with Christ just because it is hard. God doesn't stop the rain for us; he gives us a umbrella.
I believe I am entering a new season, less about being broken, and more about regaining joy and love for the Lord.
Restoration is near.
"God didn't come to change the human condition, He came to teach us how to respond". Thats what a family friend/priest told us when my dad was in the hospital and its always stuck with me. it sounded a lot like this. I love you.
